Journey towards an Inclusive Tomorrow

‘Champions of Change’ (CoC) is a social internship program designed for university students to awaken their sense of civic and social responsibility and to promote a culture of peace and inclusion on university campuses and in communities across the country

The university students come from diverse backgrounds yet are united under the common goal of promoting peace and developing and working on creative solutions to social problems.

12 interactive training sessions and 35 hours of active community work provide students with an experiential Service Learning opportunity. They gain valuable work experience in the social sector and build their professional portfolio. As a result, their problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, teamwork, and leadership skills are enhanced.

Champions of Change is partnering with some leading universities:

  • University of Karachi (UoK)
  • Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST)
  • Usman Institute of Technology (UIT)
  • NED University of Engineering and Technology
  • Newports Institute of Communications and Economics (NICE)
  • Shah Abdul Latif University- Khairpur
  • Sindh University Jamshoro

Syed Hasnain
NED University

“Champions of Change is not just an internship course but a learning phase for me. The program will always remain in my heart. Through this platform, I have got an opportunity to showcase my potential. Also, my mentors directed all of my positive energy to lead my social action project. This course enabled me to think about real-life issues and solving them in a most resilient way. I will remain part of this amazing team and spread peace in society.”

Sarah Batool
SZABIST University

“From all the sessions that I have attended, it has connected me to those people who want to do something for the society, and that has given me the hope and trust that there are people who still have good intentions for the society. The sessions have given me this opportunity to bring up things that people rarely discuss like civic responsibility, ethics, personal leadership and it has given me a chance to know what the people of our generation think and how they can work towards a better future. A huge thanks to our mentor, who was always open to our opinions and views. Responded positively and gave clarity to our confused thoughts throughout the discussions during the sessions.”

Dr Syed Asim Ali
KARACHI University

“In terms of numbers the University of Karachi is the largest university of Pakistan with students from every corner of the country. It makes the university a diverse community, and unfortunately, the diversity is not been celebrated as it should be. I am glad that Champions of Change took the initiative and engaged the students and provided that platform to bring students of different backgrounds together and celebrate diversity.”
